The  Science of Self-Care for Parents & Caregivers

A Workshop Devoted to Understanding and Developing Your Personalized Self-Care Plan

Stay tuned for date TBA!!!

When you hear the phrase self-care is your first thought, “Sounds nice but who has the time?”

Do you find yourself looking forward to any excuse (even a minor illness) to claim uninterrupted couch time?

Do you find yourself saying yes when you really mean no?

If you relate to any of the above, we’ve got you.

We know all too well how the demands of caregiving make it all too easy to neglect your own well-being. We also understand the importance of self-care as a fundamental aspect of mental and emotional health and believe it truly is possible to take care of others while caring for yourself.

Join us to find out how.

Our goal for you is to initiate a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and rejuvenation that continues well beyond our time together. Through a series of engaging activities, discussions, and experiential practices, we will explore various aspects of self-care and provide practical tools to achieve personal balance and inner harmony.

Key Topics Covered:

Understanding Self-Care: What really is self-care and why is it key to maintaining emotional well-being, managing stress, and preventing burnout? Gain a deeper understanding of the importance of self-care in your daily life.

Somatic Approaches to Embodied Self-Care: We will delve into somatic approaches to self-care, emphasizing the mind-body connection. Topics covered will include mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and embodied movement.

Self-Regulation & Parenting: How does understanding our nervous system play a role in how we show up as parents? And what does this have to do with self-care? Learn how self-care is rooted in a deep understanding of the needs of our own system as well as how to talk to kids about self- and co-regulation.

Co-Regulation & Relationships: Go deeper into the science of nervous system regulation and how our closest relationships can help expand the foundation for meaningful self-care through awareness and practice of intentional co-regulation.

Boundary Setting & Cultivating Self-Compassion: Learning to set boundaries can be a radical form of self-care. We will explore strategies to effectively communicate and hold boundaries, enabling you to prioritize self-care without guilt. Fostering self-compassion starts with developing a kind and nurturing inner dialogue. Participants will explore self-compassion practices and learn to counteract self-judgment and negative self-talk.

Your Sensory System & Self-Care Rituals: What is your sensory profile and what does this mean for your self-care practice? Learn practical ways to integrate self-care into daily routines and establish sustainable self-care rituals.

Make Time for YOU
